One of the things we’ve noticed during our daily exercise walks is that the gardens in our neighbourhoods have never looked better. The unusually warm and sunny weather has helped of course and there has never been a better time for children and young people to be introduced to the therapeutic enjoyment and satisfaction that growing things can bring. Quality time spent alongside positive adult role models is one of the most valuable healers of childhood traumas, and gardening is a great means of escape for adults who are worried about switching on the news.
